The number one question I get since coming back home to Merced is...WHY?
Here's the short version. When I moved to Los Angeles just over five years ago my goal was to get into real estate and learn it at the highest level. But it was never a place I wanted to raise a family or call home for the rest of my life. After struggling like many do and being forced to live in my car for four months (a whole 'nother story) I was fortunate enough to get into the business and partner with two guys who became my mentors.
Just like most of you, I set new goals at the start of the New Year. One of those was to visit home once a month. After many trips and a lot of miles on my car I began to notice the exponential growth of our beautiful town. But along with that growth I also noticed shortcuts being taken by the local Realtors and areas in which I could improve upon.
I do admit that some of the move was a bit selfish. Many of the people that i've grown up with are buying homes and I wanted to be the one to help them. I know the saying goes "It's just business, don't take it personal" but since coming home I do take it personal because of the relationship I have with most of you.
Within the last week I have been fortunate enough to help multiple friends find their first home and even help a family member list theirs. Yes, I am working those long hours again because I'm starting my business from scratch, but one thing I can tell you is I haven't had this much fun doing real estate in a while.
I understand some may call me crazy, but I feel that this move shows just how much belief I have in our beautiful city and in all of you.
